Usability Testing

One of the primary goals of any interactive design project is to make sure that the website, online course, kiosk, etc. that you are building is intuitive for the user to use. The idea is to design with your audience in mind, and create a site that's as straight forward and easy to use as possible.

Is your site easy to use?

90% of your competition won't take this step. You should.

Usability Testing involves observing users from your intended audience, as they attempt to use your website. It's pretty close that simple, but very quickly, usability issues will arise on even the best designed sites, kiosks, and online courses. Running your interactive project through user testing during the development process closes the gap from how you think users will use the site, and how they actually use the site.

Usability testing ensures that your site is clear, and easy to understand, which lowers the barrier for your audience to engage with your site.

How the process works

At it's most basic, the team at White Dog Design Group will create a script for potential users of the site to follow during testing. We then guide potential audience members through the script, recording and observing as they work through a particular site. Is the site easy to navigate? Where are the points of frustration that hamper the effectiveness of the site? These are the kinds of things that we are looking to discover, and then fix, before the site is released to the public.

If you are considering improving the effectiveness of your website, either through design improvements, or usability testing, WDDG would love to speak with you further about how we may help. Please contact White Dog Design Group today.
